Monday 100503 Tabata Something Else

"Tabata Something Else"
Complete 32 intervals of 20 seconds of work followed by ten seconds of rest where the first 8 intervals are pull-ups, the second 8 are push-ups, the third 8 intervals are sit-ups, and finally, the last 8 intervals are squats. There is no rest between exercises.
Post total reps from all 32 intervals to comments.

After many years of chronic back pain that prohibited him from even the simplest exercise routine, Curt (who has been with us since Pre-Hut days- also known as the "Fish Bowl Era") is stronger than ever... and liberated from what was becoming an early spiral towards decrepitude.  His remedy... LOTS of hard work at CrossFit!  I will let him tell you his story... but suffice it to say that his numbers speak volumes about his progress over this past year.  A BIG birthday is coming up for Curt and instead of weekly visits to different versions of physical therapy- he spends about 4 days a week at CrossFit Malibu.

Congratulations to Curt, on Saturday he competed in the mountain bike triathlon at Wildflower and did a great job representing CrossFit Malibu.  I wonder if he wore a CFM shirt?  He reports that GPP (general physical preparedness) of CrossFit works.. and that he only did a handful of "specialist" workouts to get ready for the tri (namely some 'bricks'- bike/run workouts) and even those and the occasional swim workouts were done CrossFit style- like Tabata intervals.

So for Curt... here is one of his favorite WODs.  This serves to commemorate Curt's return to athleticism, his contributions to his WOD-mates in the 6am and 5pm classes, and completion of a major goal for 2010 in competing in a triathlon.  Nice work Curtis!

  2. 29/332 with 1.25" band. That's pretty much classic CrossFit right there. I'm wiped.
