Friday 110225 AMRAP

What do you tell people when they ask, "How did you get so ________?"(Fill in the complimentary word you hear most often: fit, strong, healthy, hot, sexy, ripped, in shape, etc...)  Of course I know you tell them that you do CrossFit, and that the Hut is cool, and the members are special and p friendly people that are not at all like people in big box gyms... but does that really tell them what CrossFit IS?
The 'educational chalkboard' is designed to help you understand various aspects of the very program that helped you to become stronger, fitter, leaner, healthier, and maybe even,eh hem... sexier.  Do you "get" everything currently written on the board... does any of it warrant further discussion or explanation?  IF so- ask!  It is our job to help you get how and why CF works so well!

Friday WOD

Complete as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of:
80kg/55kg pound Back squat, 7 reps
45 pound dumbbell Overhead walking lunge, 10 steps (right hand)
7 Burpees
45 pound dumbbell Overhead walking lunge, 10 steps (left hand)
Post number of rounds to chalkboard/journal.

  1. The value of training to time domains (i.e., working at different levels of intensity) may be one of the less-appreciated principles. But I also think it is ironic how easy it is sometimes to overlook the overarching goal of CrossFit, even though it is written all over everything: becoming prepared for things OUTSIDE CrossFit. "Learning and playing new sports" and otherwise doing physical things outside of the Hut not only builds our appreciation and motivation for what goes on in the Hut, it helps us come up with our own definition of "fitness" customized for ourselves and then evaluate our strengths and weaknesses in a very practical way.

  2. Who needs IWCABTAMD to decipher. This is easy....Crossfit is walking around with 30 less pounds. Buying new clothes every 4 months and feeling aches and pains in muscles you didn't know you had.
