Many of you have your sights on the CF Games Open which begins in a month- and our team already has 14 members signed up. There is anticipation and excitement building towards this event and we are in for some energetic good times on Thursday Nights (and Saturday mornings)- regardless of whether you are competing, judging or cheering... and I hope you will consider partaking in ALL THREE of those actions. At the same time, our weekly training is taking on the look and feel of the Open; we are three weeks into a gym-wide, 6 week strength cycle that will prepare us, added skills and tabata focuses are being implemented to round out fitness, and Open-style WODs are sprinkled in there once or twice a week to give the feel and some practice for when it is Game Time. Now I want to tell you about yet ANOTHER way to prepare for this challenge and at the very same time, look beyond the CrossFit Games Open in attaining a well-rounded, holistic level of fitness.
CrossFit Malibu has teamed up with the Whole Life Challenge (WLC) and we are going to embark on a 2 month journey... one that begins VERY soon. It turns out that our Fall Habits Challenge- which we ran last year- has a lot in common with WLC. The WLC is a new way of looking at your life. Your whole life. How does it work? Where are your opportunities? What does a life lived inside of a commitment to real, long term, sustainable, practical health, fitness and overall well-being look like? It certainly isn't about beating your brains out in the gym day after day. It can't be about a restrictive, ascetic dietary regimen. And it definitely isn't living like your health is a problem to solve or your life is something to fix. Check back tomorrow to find out more details of what it will be like to take on the Whole Life Challenge. For a sneak peak, you can click here. But don't sign up yet. There's more to tell you before you commit.
