Scott's Grandpa Carl died on Wednesday- our thoughts go out to Scott and all of his extended family.  Finnegan Carl Bolan was named after his Great Grandpa Carl.

KEARNEY, NE - Longtime Kearney business and community leader Carl Spelts died today at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 91.
"I feel retired persons need a reason to get up every morning," the retired lumberyard owner who threw his support behind many of Kearney's major capital campaigns once said.
He led or assisted drives to open a new Salvation Army building, buy 60 acres for the Kearney Industrial Park, and to refurbish and expand Kearney's former post office into the Museum of Nebraska Art.
Spelts was born Dec. 10, 1918, in the northeast Nebraska town of Tilden. He was a veteran of World War II whose U.S. Navy service included time aboard submarines. He was among veterans in the May 2008 Buffalo County Hero Flight to Washington, D.C.
