Friday 100604 Lynne


The Zone Challenge has begun... we have kicked off with introductory sessions Wednesday and Thursday night.  Many thanks to Holden and Priscilla MacRae performing body composition tests, to Tom for sharing his story and knowledge of the Zone, and Scott for creating materials and contributing his experience with everyone.  Almost 30 members of CrossFit Malibu attended the meeting- meaning there will be many athletes practicing strict Zone (yes- measuring and weighing) for at least the next 2 weeks.  If you did not attend the meeting- you can pick up materials and ask as many questions as you need to in order to get started.  Begin by clicking on the Zone article to the RIGHT of this posting.  


On Saturday at 9am we will have our first Saturday Zone Support group meeting!  All are welcome! Now for tomorrow's WOD:

Five rounds for max reps of:
Body weight bench press
Pull-ups
Post reps for both exercises in all rounds.

  1. First real Zone breakfast. 8oz of cottage cheese 3 blocks protien, 2 blocks of fat, 2 blocks of carbs. 1/3 of a bannana 1 block of carbs. 6 peanuts 1 block of fat. a real simple 3 block meal

  2. I added a 15 cal row for time to the end of each round and it completely changed the work out. Here are my scores (Rnd # bench, Pullups, row time): Rnd 1 6,12, 29s Rnd 2 4,10,31s Rnd 3 5,8,27s Rnd 4 5,8,29s Rnd 5 4,8,31s Bench was with 205 and pull-ups were dead hang with a one inch band. Also so far Zone equal awesome.
