While it is true that Priscilla recently took the CrossFit Level 1 certification- she is not new to teaching physical education. She has been a sports medicine professor at Pepperdine since the mid-80's... after she completed her undergrad and masters and PhD degrees in sports med and physical education. She has taught everything from activity and sport PE classes to motor learning and motor development. Her research interests have included topics like exercise in the "oldest old" population (over the age of 85!) and how exercise affects cognitive functioning. Always the teacher and an advocate for movement, she brought her parents to the Hut earlier this week to introduce them to some of the ways we train in CrossFit. This demonstrates that it is definitely universally scalable and can be made accessible to everyone!
